The Youth Energy Project:
Any child and every child can make a contribution.
Everyone knows the importance of saving energy – it saves money, it’s good for the earth and it feels like the right thing to do. Energy saving ideas and products have become part of how we live. Why leave coming up with new ideas about saving energy just to adults?
The Backstory
Originally from a small town in Ontario, Canada called Kenora, Q has known the importance of caring for the environment since he was a child. His father taught him the importance of being a steward of the earth. “My dad didn’t like to create trash. He built compost bins and taught me how to recycle everything. Saving energy by reducing the amount of energy it takes to break down trash was one of my first environmentally responsible lessons, so it has been on my mind to help other people learn similar lessons for a long time now.
That’s my inspiration for The Youth Energy Project. I know children care about saving energy and they have great ideas. I believe in a cleaner, greener earth, and I think the unbiased minds of kids provide great potential for helping to change the world.”
Current Standing
The Youth Energy Project is in its early development stages. Q has applied for a 501 C 3 designation and is seeking various grants and other funding sources to get the project off the ground.
